Medicinal plants are used in curing both in traditional and modern types. Among those plants,Arcangelisia flava (L.) Merr was selected to test the cytotoxic effects against the human fibroblast cell line (TK6). The TK6 were cultured in RPMI 1640 supplemented with 10% horse serum for 12 hours. After seedling, the cells were treated with A. Flava extract at the concentrations of 0, 1, 100 and 1,000μg/l, respectively. After 24 hours, the treated cells were harvested and stained with ethidium bromide to detect apoptosis under the fluorescence microscope. In addition, the cells were detected the genotoxic effect using the chromosome aberration technique. The results of this study is under examination.
