In vitro protocorm culture of Dendrobium crystallinum Rchb.f. on semisolid and in liquid Vacin & Went (VW) (1949) medium supplemented with various concentrations of chitosan at 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 50 mg/l was conducted for 6 weeks. The results indicated that highest Growth Index (8.689) of protocorms cultured on semisolid medium was obtained when 15 mg/l of chitosan was applied whereas the highest Growth Index (4.856) of protocorms cultured in liquid medium was obtained when 20 mg/l of chitosan was utilized.
