Fabrication and magnetic properties of electrospun CoFe2O4 ferrite nanofibers
In this project, electrospun CoFe2O4 ferrite nanofibers were fabricated by sol–gel process, electrospinning method, and calcinations. The effect of calcinations temperature on the magnetic properties was investigated. From SEM images, the as-spun nanofibers had an average diameter of 454±10 nm. After calcinations at 500 ºC, 600 ºC and 800 ºC recrystalization occured and the nanofibers turned to nanoparticles. The sizes of these nanoparticles increase with increasing calcinations temperature. From Vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), all the samples exhibited a ferromagnetic behavior. The specific saturation magnetization (Ms) values were observed. It was found that Ms increases with increasing calcinations temperature. At calcinations temperature of 800 ºC Ms was 71±10 emu/g.
