Preparation and light absorption property of natural dyes for dye-sensitized solar cells
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) were fabricated using natural dyes as sensitizer. TiO2 powder was prepared by sol-gel method. Nanocrystalline TiO2 films were deposited on TCO glasses by screen printing method. The structure and properties of the films were characterized by X-ray diffraction and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Natural dyes were extracted from mulberry (Morus alba Linn.). Fresh extracted of two different solvents and two different acids at different temperatures were prepared. The absorption spectra of dyes absorbed on TiO2 surface were recorded using a UV- visible spectrometer. The result show that DSSCs prepared in this method can achieve the fill factor (FF) and energy conversion efficiency (η) values ranged from 0.39 to 0.53 and 0.007% to 0.048% respectively.
