Heterocoagulation of Skim Latex Particles onto Polymeric Capsule Containing Disinfectant Agent
Due to the fact that the use of glove is highly recommended to those individuals who are exposed to blood or body fluids of patients, the medical glove which incorporates disinfectant droplets between its rubber sheets has been ceaselessly developed. Recently, the aqueous core containing disinfectant agent(chlorhexidine digluconate) has been encapsulated in poly(methyl acrylate) (PMA) shell. The PMA capsules were subsequently adsorbed, via the Layer-by-Layer technique, onto the prevulcanized natural rubber (PNR) latex sheet. In this present study, skim latex particles were heterocoagulated onto a PMA capsule in order to form a core/shell particle. The objective was to improve the compatibility when the PMA nanocapsule/skim composite particles were deposited onto a PNR sheet. The composite particle was characterized by size measurement and zeta potential determination.
