In Thap Put District in Phang Nga Province, a short-period three-component seismometer was set up from 1 February to 28 February 2007 to monitor earthquakes. From the analysis of the data from one station with 3 components the locations and magnitudes of the earthquakes can be determined. Altogether 48 seismic events were recorded during the four weeks: 15 events in the Andaman Sea area, 24 local earthquakes, and 9 blasting events. The local earthquakes are probably related to the Ranong and Khlong Marui Fault Zones.
